Irrevocably scarred from bitter hate,
She wallows in her regrets and cold despair
While fighting against life and malignant fate,
Which mocks her yearnings without a care.
Continually striving against a foe,
Invisible to mankind's naked eye,
She seeks the transcendence of love's first glow.
Continually failing, she cannot deny
The cowardice that keeps her heart her own,
Deftly veiled within a lonely façade
Of mendacious happiness. Forever alone.
Her laughing smile, the ultimate fraud,
     Shrouds the diffidence and the loneliness remains.
     Death, the final release, from her solitary chains.
